GAME OF THE DAY

Titans AT Jaguars, 4:15 p.m.

TV/CREW: WTSP, Channel 10 (Dick Enberg, Randy Cross)

ABOUT THE Titans: Tennessee has won 12 consecutive regular-season games, and the Titans proved last week in Chicago they can succeed when the NFL's No. 6 ground attack is shut down. Kerry Collins has gone four games without throwing an interception, helping Tennessee to a league-best plus-10 turnover ratio.

ABOUT THE Jaguars: Trouncing the Lions is one thing, handing the Titans their first setback is quite another matter. QB David Garrard is playing well, but the Jags can't seem to get veteran RB Fred Taylor untracked. A mediocre rushing defense will be challenged by Tennessee's powerful line.

KEY STAT: Tennessee RB LenDale White has converted all seven of his third-and-1 opportunities.

KEY MATCHUP: Titans DT Albert Haynesworth vs. rookie G Uche Nwaneri.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL: Titans, 27-16

TONIGHT'S GAME

Cowboys AT Redskins, 8:15 p.m.

TV/CREW: WFLA, Channel 8 (Al Michaels, John Madden, Andrea Kremer)

ABOUT THE Cowboys: Maybe Tony Romo can breathe some life into the fading Cowboys, who have been undermined by 17 giveaways. A loss tonight could leave Dallas two games out of the NFC wild-card chase, so expect a heightened sense of urgency.

ABOUT THE Redskins: If RB Clinton Portis is unable to go, Washington will have difficulty controlling the clock and keeping Romo off the field. Jason Campbell has thrown only two picks in 273 pass attempts, and WR Santana Moss takes special delight in tormenting the Cowboys.

KEY STAT: Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware has 24 sacks in his past 23 games.

KEY MATCHUP: Cowboys WR Terrell Owens vs. CB DeAngelo Hall, making his Redskins debut.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL: Cowboys, 31-27

BRONCOS AT Falcons,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Given Denver's porous rush defense, don't be surprised if Atlanta rolls up 250 yards on the ground today.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Falcons, 34-24

Lions AT Panthers,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: The Bucs would be thrilled if Detroit shocks Carolina for its initial win the week before Tampa Bay travels to Motown.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Panthers, 30-10

Eagles AT BENGALS,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Philly fans are grumbling about their underachievers, while Cincinnati had a week off to savor its first win.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Eagles, 20-16

Bears AT PACKERS,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Both of these NFC North rivals have mastered the art of the heartbreaking setback.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Bears, 16-13

Texans AT Colts,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Indy is rolling into form and the Texans are 0-4 on the road, so this could be a bloodbath.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Colts, 38-17

Saints AT Chiefs,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: K.C. is giving maximum effort, and the sloppy Saints still don't play any defense.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Chiefs, 24-20

RAIDERS AT Dolphins,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Miami rarely beats itself, which makes the well-coached Dolphins a legitimate playoff threat in the diluted AFC.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Dolphins, 17-7

RAVENS AT Giants,

1 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: If you like bone-jarring tackles and crushing blocks, this defensive matchup should keep you enthralled.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Giants, 24-10

RAMS AT 49ers,

4:05 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: San Francisco may have found its QB of the future in Shaun Hill, who should have easy pickings today.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

49ers, 31-21

CARDINALS AT Seahawks,

4:05 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Arizona is due for a letdown, and the return of Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck could provide a spark.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Seahawks, 21-17

CHARGERS AT Steelers,

4:15 p.m.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Let's see if Ben Roethlisberger's sore shoulder is sturdy enough to shred San Diego's atrocious pass defense.

IRA KAUFMAN'S CALL:

Steelers, 20-12

Last week's record: 9-5. Season record: 84-60.
