Chicago Bears fullback Jason McKie visited a first-grade class at Ivy Hall Elementary School in Buffalo Grove recently to tout commitment and giving your best to the young students.
The visit was arranged by Cindi and Mitchell Ruchim, whose son Drew is a first-grader in teacher Nikki Comin?s class. They purchased the visit at an auction fundraiser for the Rory David Deutsch Foundation, which benefits pediatric brain cancer research.
McKie had donated his time to the foundation, which was created by Rory?s family in honor of the 7-year-old Highland Park science buff and Nintendo junkie who died a decade ago from a brainstem glioma.
McKie answered questions about playing for the Bears and signed autographs during his visit.
