Bears agree with TE Gaines

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - Tight end Michael Gaines and the Chicago Bears agreed Monday on a one-year contract.

Gaines was a seventh-round draft pick of Carolina in 2004 and has 79 catches for 810 yards and five touchdowns in his career with the Panthers, Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions.

Gaines caught 23 passes for 260 yards and a TD for the Lions last season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
