Offense: D
Matt Forte scored a 1-yard touchdown but was held to a season-low 34 yards. Center Olin Kreutz took full responsibility for a fumbled snap that led to a Saints TD. Kyle Orton led his team to game-tying and game-winning field goals, but he threw two costly interceptions. The Bears managed only 226 total yards against a bad defense.
\ Defense: B-
Adewale Ogunleye picking off Drew Brees' pass with the Saints facing first-and-goal was big. Safety Mike Brown ended the Saints' initial drive with an interception. Alex Brown brought relentless pressure and notched a first-half sack. But the Bears gave up 119 rushing yards.
Special teams: A+
Danieal Manning returned the opening kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown, then followed with a 52-yard kick return. Robbie Gould was clutch with the game-winning 35-yard field goal in overtime and a 28-yarder to send it into OT. Brad Maynard's net on punts was 42.6 yards, and he boomed a 56-yarder.
\ Coaching: C-
With a 21-17 lead, the Bears ran a fake punt play that was unsuccessful. It didn't seem like the smartest play, but it didn't end up being costly. Passing the ball late in the game with the lead was curious. Moving back the ball 3 yards before the final field goal didn't make much sense either.
