The Jets and Giants offered a special tour of the new Meadowlands Stadium this week, but as impressive as the $1.6 billion facility might be, all anyone wanted to know from Jets owner Woody Johnson was who'd be playing in the building. Or, rather, whether Jets quarterback Brett Favre, 39, would be back for more.

''It's up to Brett, what he wants to do, how he analyzes the season and whether he thought the experience was a positive one for him,'' Johnson told the New York Daily News.

Favre, who has two years at $27 million left on his contract, claims he's living in the moment and enjoying the Jets' 7-3 start, good enough for sole possession of first place in the AFC East.

''I really don't know,'' he told reporters about his plans for next season in a new version of an old story from Green Bay that's sure to get a super-sized New York treatment once the season is over.

Speaking of super-sized treatment, Favre may get a different perspective on his future today at Tennessee , where Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch is scheduled to rejoin defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and company. Vanden Bosch has missed three of the last four games with a groin injury, including the Titans' victory over the Bears.

''I'm looking forward to it,'' Vanden Bosch said of facing Favre. ''He is going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, so anytime you get a chance to take the field against a player like that, you accept that challenge and you step up to it.''

Favre has thrown 18 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions this season but has only one pick in his last three games after a terrible three-game stretch in which he threw seven. Jets coach Eric Mangini had a long heart-to-heart with Favre about managing risk.

The game will be an excellent measuring stick for the Jets, who've gotten excellent offensive-line play and a resurgent performance from former Bears running back Thomas Jones.

He leads the AFC with 854 rushing yards and is averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

Jones already has matched his career high with nine rushing touchdowns and has a touchdown catch.
