PLAYER NOTES

--WR Brandon Lloyd has seen his playing time and production greatly reduced since sitting out six weeks with a sprained knee. He has three catches for 20 yards in the two games since he returned.

--WR Rashied Davis is the classic example of how the Bears' passing game has tailed off, especially where the wideouts are concerned. He has caught just one pass in each of the past three games, even though he started each game.

--RB Matt Forte has averaged 5.1 yards per carry in his past four games after failing to average more than 4.0 in any of the previous six games.

--S Daniel Manning averaged 38.0 yards on two kickoff returns as the replacement for slumping Devin Hester. Manning went 50 yards with the opening kickoff to set up the Bears' first score.

--TE Greg Olsen failed to catch a pass for the first time this season but still leads the Bears with 391 receiving yards and is second with 33 receptions.

REPORT CARD VS. RAMS

PASSING OFFENSE: C -- QB Kyle Orton didn't have one of his better games, but he didn't need to against the Rams. Orton threw for just 139 yards (18 of 29) but still had an 85.3 passer rating and was not intercepted for the sixth game in a row. Orton has gone a team-record 185 passes without a pick, and he was sacked just once. Devin Hester led the Bears with 57 receiving yards on five catches, but as a group the wideouts caught just seven passes for 70 yards.

RUSHING OFFENSE: A -- Rookie Matt Forte had career highs with 132 yards and a 6.6-yard average, and he scored on runs of 13 and 47 yards but lost the first fumble of his NFL career. The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage, and as a team, the Bears averaged 6.3 yards per rushing attempt, including 35 yards on five carries by backup Adrian Peterson and 32 yards on two carries by Devin Hester, one from the Wildcat formation.

PASS DEFENSE: A -- The Bears tied a season high with four interceptions, two by LB Lance Briggs, one by MLB Brian Urlacher and one by CB Charles Tillman. They also established a season high with five sacks, all from the defensive line, two each by Tommie Harris and Adewale Ogunleye and one by Alex Brown. The Rams had a combined passer rating of 33.8

RUSH DEFENSE: A -- The Rams averaged less than a yard per carry with a total of 14 yards on 19 attempts. Briggs, Urlacher and Alex Brown each had two tackles for loss.

SPECIAL TEAMS: B -- Danieal Manning was a major upgrade over Devin Hester with 76 yards on two kickoff returns. Hester was ineffective again with 26 yards on four punt returns, a 6.5-yard average. PK Robbie Gould hit on both field goal attempts, from 43 and 38 yards. Corey Graham had four tackles, all solos, and Craig Steltz had three, including two solos.

COACHING: B -- The pass rush finally returned, successfully utilizing some stunts, and the Bears opened up the offensive playbook. But it was against the Rams.
