PLAYER NOTES

--NT Dusty Dvoracek will miss the remainder of the season with a torn right biceps. Dvoracek leads the Bears' linemen with 40 tackles and is tied for third on the team with six tackles for loss.

--WLB Lance Briggs was credited with his season-high 16 tackles against the Vikings, just one short of Mike Brown's team high this season. Briggs had seven solo tackles and nine assists.

--S Kevin Payne, who had six tackles Sunday night also snagged his team-best fourth interception.

--CB Corey Graham, who has replaced Nate Vasher (I.R., hand) had 13 tackles in Minnesota, including a team-best 12 solos.

--TE Greg Olsen caught one pass for seven yards after getting shut out last week

REPORT CARD VS. VIKINGS

PASSING OFFENSE: D -- QB Kyle Orton continued to slump with his worst game of the season and a passer rating of 39.1, nearly 50 points below his season mark going into Week 13. Orton was picked off three times in a span of seven passes after throwing 206 passes without an interception. Wide receivers continued to struggle, with the exception of the short slant route that Devin Hester turned into a 65-yard TD. Wide receivers caught a total of five passes. TE's Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen combined for two catches and 16 yards.

RUSHING OFFENSE: B -- Rookie Matt Forte went over the 1,000-yard mark with 96 yards on 22 carries to give him a season total of 1,005. Forte averaged 4.4 yards against the stout Vikings defense.

PASS DEFENSE: C -- Take away the 99-yard TD grab on which former Bear WR Bernard Berrian burned his ex-teammate Charles Tillman, and the Bears weren't too bad, allowing just 111 additional passing yards. S Kevin Payne had his team-best fourth interception, but after early sacks by Tommie Harris and Alex Brown, the Bears' pass rush disappeared.

RUSH DEFENSE: D -- On Adrian Peterson's 59-yard run, he was stopped in his tracks and at least three Bears had a chance to end the play, but he bounced away en route to a 131-yard day on 28 carries for a 4.7-yard average. Chester Taylor added a 21-yard TD run and 46 yards on 10 attempts. Missed tackles were a problem all night against both Vikings running backs.

SPECIAL TEAMS: B-minus -- P Brad Maynard dropped five of his nine punts inside the 20 and allowed a total of minus-3 return yards for a net average of 40.3 yards. Danieal Manning is clearly a more aggressive kick returner than Devin Hester, who continues to show terrible judgment on punt returns.

COACHING: D -- Failing to score on four plays from the Vikings' 1-yard line is as much an indictment of play-calling as it is of execution. The passing game appears to be close to rock bottom.
