1. Keep Garrard contained: Tampa Bay quarterback Jeff Garcia almost single-handedly won the game last Sunday with his ability to keep plays alive with his feet. Now the Vikings must contain another mobile quarterback. Jacksonville's David Garrard showed he's dangerous on the ground against Cleveland (seven carries, 59 yards) and Houston (seven carries, 41 yards).
2. Go back to Peterson: If the Vikings lose the game giving the ball to Adrian Peterson, so be it. But they can't go away from their most dangerous player like they did at Tampa Bay.
3. Make Garrard beat them: Garrard has had a disappointing season after signing a $60 million contract extension in the offseason. The Vikings have to make sure Garrard is forced to try to beat them.
4. Take your shots: Gus Frerotte could have one of his best games if he takes smart shots against a poor Jaguars' defense, which has allowed 18 passing touchdowns, second most in the NFL.
5. Avoid the turnovers: The Vikings are minus-6 in turnovers. Of their 21 turnovers this season, 12 have come in the second half, including six in the fourth quarter. Of the 12 interceptions this season, seven have come in the second half.
